Welcome to The Conscious Parenting Universe!
This blog serves as a universal gathering place for all parents and caregivers of children as well as those who serve parents and children around the world to learn, connect, share, empower and be inspired toward the daily practice of interacting consciously with children. What exactly does this mean? That is the purpose for this blog-based universal conscious community: to explore, discover and shape The Conscious Parenting Universe, together.
How this blog works:
About Me – Cathy Northcutt - Family Coach & Creator of The Conscious Parenting Universe
Hello Friend,
I am Cathy Northcutt, born in 1967 to a 15-year-old mom and grew up in a household with parents who didn’t think twice about how effective their parenting was. Although my parents loved me, they unconsciously neglected me and eroded my self-esteem through their verbal and non-verbal communication. I have my personal childhood sad stories as well as triumph stories too. Thankfully, I survived and now, as a parent of a son (9) and daughter (8), it is my mission to raise children who feel heard, understood, valued, and appreciated for who they are – all the things my heart longed for as a child. I want to be the best parent I can be, a parent who interacts consciously with not only my children but all children I have the honor to interact with.
Professionally I am known as “Coach Cathy”— a caring, creative and challenging Life & Family Coach and Parent Educator with the International Network for Children and Families. I am a peacebuilder to help families enjoy more peace, harmony, and wellness in the home, and, as a result more peace, harmony, and cooperation amongst peoples and nations.
A vision from my heart
I realized after a spiritual awakening in March 2008 that I have a vision for children. The Conscious Parenting Universe is an inspired vision that sees all children completely loved, acknowledged, appreciated, and valued for who they are, first and foremost by their parents. If we are ever to experience World Peace, it must begin in the home.
It is my spiritual calling and highest honor to support this vision with a mission to educate and coach parents throughout the world towards the daily practice of conscious parenting, to enjoy deep and rich relationships that transcend conflicts and problems to experience unconditional love and safety in being “who they really are.” Part of this mission is to support men, women, and children to learn “the art of extreme self-care” – skills to support healthy interdependence.

This is my first slideshow of my family ! and reveals my vision for families: to enjoy the simple pleasures of daily life. Stop, look and listen to your kids with open minds and open hearts. Give them lots of hugs every day and help them feel how much they are loved, valued and appreciated. These are the moments you will treasure when you look back upon your life and these are the moments – the Genuine Encounter Moments (GEMS) – that will help your children feel secure and successful in life. And parents: please take my Redirecting Children’s Behavior course – this fun and interactive parenting class transformed my relationship with my kids and will yours too. It’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made and your kids will be happy you did! It’s available in-person or by teleclass. Find details and current schedule at www.CathyNorthcutt.com.
I am deeply inspired to speak to parents about high-quality communication, relationship skills, being present and available for one another, seeing with the heart, empathizing, allowing what is to be, and well-being. I greatly enjoy working with passionate parents – men and women who see that raising a child is truly their greatest contribution to humanity.
I would love to hear from you so. . .please say hello in the reply box below. I look forward to getting to know you.
Namaste,
