Happy Mother’s Day 2010

Posted by: Coach Cathy on: May 9, 2010

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there!

In the year 2000, when my first child Grant was born, I discovered a book by Katrina Kenison, an author who captured my heart.  Her writings seeded the fertile soil for my conscious mothering style and will forever decorate the landscape of my children’s lives.  I owe Katrina eternal gratitude for sharing her reflections.  I would not be the mother I am today without  her.  If you desire to be a mother who is mindful, present, aware, available, creative, soulful, peaceful, open-minded, nourishing, and willing to surrender to God’s greater plan for your children, please give yourself a gift and read Katrina’s books.

Mitten Strings for God:  Reflections for Mothers in a Hurry was the first book I read and I read it at least once each year.  Katrina’s newest book, The Gift of An Ordinary Day:  A Mother’s Memoir is now available and I can’ wait to read it.  (I hope my kids give it to me for Mother’s Day!)

You can hear a lovely 2-minute commercial about her new book here or hear her read a chapter of the book here.  Or, go straight to her website.

Wishing you peace and ordinary days filled with extraordinary moments.

Love Cathy

I give that book as a present to my mom on her last year’s birthday and she said it was nice.. Happy mother’s day to all.

When my children were born I was so young I really didn’t know what it meant to be a MOTHER. I did know to show them my love, keep them safe in their hearts and soul. Each stage of my children’s lives I have been amazed of the person each of them are becoming. I enjoy each of them as adults now and I look at them and think WOW I am so lucky to be their MOTHER…

Yes, this book is SO great. In fact, Sis, this blog is prompting me to read my book again (which you so lovingly gave me). Thanks for the idea!

Love You and Happy Mother’s Day.
Sissy
